Borstar Bay3 / McDermott Project

In 2020 Alfran was the successful bidder for the supply and application of materials for Fireproofing and Thermal Insulation for the Borstar Bay3 project. This project represents a milestone in the region since it involves the construction of a new modular plant for the production of High-Density Ethylene (HDPE) of 625,000 tons/year.

Fireproofing works have involved the application of more than 7,000 m2 of intumescent epoxy material in 13 of the 27 modules that make up the plant. This task could be carried out prompt and perfect thanks to the excellent qualification of the Alfran staff, for which the customer congratulated us.

On the other hand, the Thermal Insulation works were carried out in all the pipes of the 27 modules and 41 process equipment. Among the required materials, it is worth highlighting the application of rock wool, PIR, and cellular glass among others. All these components were installed under the highest quality standards in the sector, such as the C.I.N.I (International Standard for Industrial Insulation) standard.
