ALFRAN INDIA COMPLETES ITS FIRST SHOTCRETING PROJECT FOR ULTRATECH CEMENT IN INDIA

Alfran India has successfully completed its first wet shotcrete application project in the Indian market using our patented ALFRANJET® technology, carried out for UltraTech Cement at its Balaji plant. This project marks a significant milestone in Alfran’s growth in India and in the development of its local refractory installation capabilities.
The work was carried out during the UltraTech Balaji plant shutdown in September 2023, making it the first purchase order received from UltraTech Cement in India for this type of application.
The project was carried out at a clinker plant with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes per day, equipped with two lines, six stages and FLSmidth technology, reflecting the high technical demands of the environment in which the work was carried out.
Refractory solutions developed by Alfran were used for the project, primarily ALFRANJET® 70 concrete in the TAD V Joint cooler and ALFRANJET® 70 SIC in the kiln riser, selected in accordance with the operating conditions of each area.

Technology and specialised application equipment

The execution of the project required specific preparation of the shotcrete equipment.
This infrastructure enabled the various phases of the work – welding of anchors, installation of insulation and application of the dense lining – to be carried out in a coordinated manner.

The completion of this first project for UltraTech Cement represents a significant step forward for Alfran India, from both a technical and commercial perspective.
