In 2015, Alfran carried out two brownfield revamping projects at the cement plant of the company Cemex in Assiut (Egypt). The projects involved the supply and installation of traditional sprayed insulating concrete, and shotcrete dense concrete, in the new head, TAD, and calciner of kiln k1 and the new calciner of kiln k3, for a total of 870 tons of dense concrete and 330 tons of insulating concrete between both kilns.

The installation of our Alfranjet concrete using shotcreting technology was carried out with our own high-capacity permanent pumps in Egypt. This allowed us to reduce downtime by over 30% compared to the same work with vibrocast.

We achieved dense concrete application rates of up to 100 tons/day. Spanish and Egyptian engineers were involved in the project, as well as Spanish technicians and Egyptian assembly personnel from Alfran. Alfran also dried and heat-treated all the heat-resistant concrete installed in both revamping projects.
