The Dominguez Family Company celebrates 100 years of existence and 80 years as Manufacturer of refractory products. Our history as a Family Business, now in its fourth generation, began in the last century. Fernando Domínguez Alfaro was the forerunner and founder of this adventure in 1914, starting with the production of pottery materials in Alfarería Street in Triana. From the 1930s onwards, the second generation joined the business, with Fernando Domínguez Franco. In that decade, Refractarios F. Dominguez was founded and their facilities were moved to the end of Castilla street, opposite the Cachorro Church, but remaining in Tirana, as always.

The third generation joined the business between the 1960s and 1980s. In 1985, the current Company, Sociedad Refractarios Alfran S.A., was set up between Fernando Dominguez Franco and his 4 children who belonged to the third generation. September 1991 marked the start-up of the new factory, facilities and offices at the industrial estate, Polígono Industrial Hacienda Dolores, in Alcalá de Guadaira, leaving the land and facilities in Triana, due to the Seville UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION: EXPO 92.

In 1997, Manuel Chávez González, as President of the Andalusian Government (Junta de Andalucía), officially opened the Refractarios Alfran facilities in Alcalá de Guadaira.

In the 1990s, we began to offer a full range of services to our customers, creating a company for refractory installation. The first Family Protocol was signed to ensure the continuity of the Family and the viability of the Company in the future, separating ownership, governance and management of the companies. Innovative R & D projects were carried out, marking the difference with our competitors.

Throughout the first decade of this century and up to the present day, the Company has shown a firm commitment to Innovation, Internationalization and Diversification, which has allowed us to continue growing, despite the long and profound crisis our country has suffered.

We are a diversified group of companies, currently with the following lines of business: Refractory, Industrial Fireproofing, Insulation and Heat treatment, with a highly-renowned brand, ALFRAN, and we operate internationally with businesses in Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Colombia.

In 2011 a generational shift took place from the third to the fourth generation in the management of the business group.

Today we are the only company in the Andalusian Community offering a full range of services in high temperature technology and we are the leader among our competitors in this sector in Spain, Latin America and Arab Countries.

In this centennial year for our Business Family, we have worked and agreed on a Future Project, called STAGE CHANGE. This STAGE CHANGE includes the review of our Family Business Protocol, signed in 1988, an EQUITY PLAN for us to adapt to the current situation of the Family and the Company Group, and a STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE FUTURE taking us up to the year 2020, which should guide the way for our development and growth in coming years.

The Mission of the Aldomer Group is the administration and management of our companies, providing a professional future for their employees and collaborating in the economic development of the geographical areas where our businesses are located.
