In December 2013, ALFRAN signed a contract with the JV made up of ICA, ODEBRECHT, and TECHNIP, to supply and install heat-resistance and insulation materials inside the 6 cracking furnaces of the project. The total materials exceeded 1,500 tons, including heat-resistant concretes applied by gunning, concrete for installation via vibrocasting, insulating bricks, and ceramic fibre modules. The cracking and ethanol polymerisation plants have the capacity to produce one million tons of ethylene per year, which means that Mexico can significantly reduce imports of this product, estimated at around 1,500 million USD/year.
