Drying of Refractory Material in Cement Factory

The purpose of the Drying process is to ELIMINATE the WATER in a SUITABLE MANNER. If the process is not controlled adequately, the vapour, which is generated at a high rate, will increase the pressure inside the coating, leading to explosions.

The DRYING is the last operation in the installation of the heat-resistant material, making it the most critical step of the process.

Drying the heat-resistant material installed in the cement factory of the company Secil in Sibline, Lebanon, took 55 hours. The final temperature reached in the system was 600 ºC.

16 diesel burners were used, consuming a total of 38,000 litres.
