A total of 106 tons of concrete were installed in the most critical area of the calciner curve. Alfran’s welders installed +V heel type anchors. Following the installation of the anchors, 16 tons of insulating concrete were sprayed on. The material used for insulation was Alfranlite 10-14. Different sizes of panels were used in a “Z” formation to avoid hot air entering the dilation joints and avoid damage to the metal plates. After spraying the insulating concrete, 90 tons of dense concrete (AlfranJet 70 SiC) were installed, with an average rate of 60 tons per shift.
