Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRA) by Alfran Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, Alfran Saudi Arabia has been active in the oil and gas sector since 2013. As opposed to its neighboring countries like Qatar; Saudi Arabia has mostly Sour gas in all of its discovered reserves, to convert this Sour gas into sweet gas, Saudi Arabia has a number of SRU, and they are the most refractory consumption intensive equipments. Alfran Saudi Arabia has in the recent past been involved in the following projects related to SRUs:

1. Wasit Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco through EPC: SK Engineering) [2013/2014]

Complete green field refractory lining of four trains, that include cumulatively 4 stacks (90 meters each), 20 condensors, 16 convertors, 4 super Clause reactors and piping between the equipments.

2. Shedghum Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco) SRU#2 [March 2014]

Extensive refractory repair/Replacement of all SRU equipments, that includes 2 condensors, 4 convertors, waste heat boiler, reaction furnace, Thermal oxidizer, Stack, Acid Gas preheater, Air Reheater and Sulfur pit.

3. Shedghum Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco) SRU#3 [Sep 2014]

Refractory repair and patch-up of some SRU equipments, that includes 2 condensors, 3 convertors, reaction furnace, Thermal oxidizer, Stack and Sulfur pit.

4. Rastanura Refinery; Plant 72 SRU [Jan 2015]

Refractory repair of 4 condesors, 4 convertos, and the complete refractory removal and re application of reaction furnace.

5. Rastanura Refinery; Plant 48 SRU [July 2015]

Alfran Saudi Arabia, was tasked to completely dismantle all refractories in the thermal oxidizer , and design, supply and install all refractory lining in the equipment with performance guarantee

6. Hawiyah Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco) SRU# 2 [ Feb 2016]

Refractory refractory repair of SRU equipments, that includes 1 condensor, 4 convertors, waste heat boiler, reaction furnace, Thermal oxidizer, Stack and Sulfur pit.

7. Hawiyah Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco) SRU# 3 [August 2016]

Extensive refractory repair/Replacement of most of the SRU equipments, that includes 3 condensors, 2 convertors, waste heat boiler, reaction furnace, Acid Gas preheater, Air Reheater and Sulfur pit.

8. Hawiyah Gas Plant (Saudi Aramco)SRU# 4 [Dec 2017]

Minor refractory repair/Replacement of some SRU equipments, that includes 4 condensors, 2 convertors, waste heat boiler, Thermal oxidizer, Stack and Sulfur pit.

9. Khusaniya Gas Plant, SRU200/300 [2018]

Alfran Saudi Arabia has been awarded the refractory repair of 2 SRU units of Khursaniya gas plants in 2018, the exact amount of repair needed and the equipments involved will be decided/known after the initial inspections once the manholes are opened in Feb-2018.
