Thermal Treatment of LPG Storage Spheres in Bolivia

Sometimes, the dimensions of the part requiring the treatment is such that it is impossible to treat it in a furnace, be it fixed or portable. In the case of the Storage Spheres, the Thermal Treatment was carried out via Internal Combustion. The treated part became the oven itself. It was externally insulated with various layers of insulation, also introducing high-speed gas burners inside, to reach the gradient required by the manufacturer.

The project to heat-treat 4 spheres measuring 24,384 metres in diameter, with a capacity of 7,000 m3 was carried out in the Refinery of Bolivian Oil Reserves of Gran Chaco, in Bolivia, contracted by the Spanish company Felguera-IHI.
