Quellaveco Project / Anglo American Quellaveco. Heat Tracing and Thermal Insulation System for Nash pipes. Moquegua, Peru (August 2022)

Alfran made its contribution to the Quellaveco Project in Moquegua, Peru, from engineering to the installation of Heat Tracing and Thermal Insulation systems for the copper concentrate pipes. These two systems, in combination, ensure the transport of copper to the discharge, in a region where ambient temperatures reach values below zero degrees centigrade, thanks to the fact that they help to maintain optimum process temperatures that prevent the freezing of the fluid. This ensures the continuity of the plant and avoids prolonged shutdowns due to problems associated with pipe blockages caused by freezing.
