For the construction of the 4 Storage Tanks in the renovation of plant By-products of Battery in Arcelor Mittal in Gijón was necessary to carry out the Heat Treatment of all the welds of the tanks, both the horizontal ferrules of 9 meters of diameter and the vertical ones. Approximately 1,500 meters of welding.

Before the process, a finite element study was made to ensure that the tanks would not suffer damage or deformation due to temperature.

The coordination between all the work units was key in the performance of the work, since the heat treatments were carried out as the tanks were lifted, with the difficulty that this implies.
