RE-COATING POST-COMBUSTION CHAMBERS

In 2014, Alfran re-coated the three idex post-combustion chambers in Nachterstedt (Germany) within the construction phase of the largest aluminium recycling plant in Europe (the novelis plant). The project consisted in the full engineering of the heat-resistant elements, supplying all the materials, and the installation and technical supervision thereof. Specifically, Alfran welded the metal anchors, installed insulating coating with calcium silicate plates and later 220 tons of alfranjet concrete was applied via shotcreting. The use of this technology reduced installation times for dense concrete by 35% compared to using vibrocasting.
