IBERDROLA ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION
INSULATION OF THE INTERCONNECTION RACK BETWEEN THE ELECTRICAL COGENERATION PLANT AND SALAMANCA REFINERY FOR PEMEX

Supply and installation of thermal insulation for the interconnection lines between the new electrical cogeneration plant built by Iberdrola for CFE and Pemex’s refinery in Salamanca. This rack of over 3 km had 8 km of medium and high pressure lines, for a total of 25,000 m2 of pipes. They are critical lines (especially the high pressure one), since a failure of insulation could mean shutting down the refinery equipment due to the condensation of the vapour from the high-pressure line. Alfran assembled the scaffolding needed to carry out the works, and it also labelled all the lines according to Pemex’s standards. The works were carried out correctly and on time, and we were congratulated by both Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción and by Pemex Proyectos.
