13 Apr: Supply and Installation of Thermal Insulation in Abkatun A-II

Industrial Services in Alfran Mexico has been awarded the contract for the supply and assembly of thermal insulation in the Offshore Abkatun A-II platform. This platform is being built by Mcdermott International, a US multinational specialized in this type of project. The works are being carried out in his patio located in Altamira, Tamaulipas state (Gulf of Mexico area).

plataforma Offshore AbkatúnThis platform replaces the old Abkatun Alfa. That one suffered an appalling fire in April 2015. Regarding Abkabun A-II, it is expected to have a daily production of 200.00 barrels. It will be located in the Abkatún-Pol-Chuc field, operated by Pemex, in the Campeche basin, between the states of Campeche and Tabasco, and about 132km northeast of the port of Dos Bocas.

The technical office of Mexico has been responsible for making the winning bid. In this proposal, we counted on the collaboration from the technical office in Alfran Spain.

To make this ambitious project a success, an execution plan has been made between the sales, technical office and operations areas.

04 Apr: Projection of DT Clean40 HG in the alumina zone. Cementos Portland. Spain

During the past month of January we made the first intervention of refractory of the refractory brick in the zone of base alumina of the tube of a Cement Kiln, between the meters 63 and 65.

By request of the client, it was necessary to get this brick to endure until the end of the campaign. Although it had an average thickness above the residual, it did not have enough to withstand another full campaign.

For this, we installed using the High-Gun system, 5.5 tons of our material Drytech Clean 40 High Gun. In this way, an average of 90 mm was increased over the entire diameter of the furnace.

It was first cleaned dry and with a wire brush. Subsequently, without the need for any anchoring, the concrete was projected in a very short space of time.

14 Mar: Good safety habits in the construction of the East Anglia One

Intec-Heat is collaborating in the construction of the 42 Jackets of East Anglia One, one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world. The scope of the contract, in addition to the 42 jackets, includes the construction of 126 piles. Although part of the works were carried out during 2017, most of them will be carried out during 2018. Most of the construction of the Jackets will be carried out at the Navantia facilities in Fene, Coruña. Regarding the piles, they will be built by Windar, in its facilities in Avilés.

In the record of the monthly coordination meeting held on January 19 at the Navantia – Fene facilities, Intec-Heat was congratulated for “the high level of compliance in the continued use of the Individual Protection Equipment. Especially in protective glasses. “

29 Jan: New contract with Arcelor Mittal in Asturias (Spain)

Alfran has been awarded the construction contract for converters (BOF) in the steel mills of Avilés (LDA) and Gijón (LDG) that the Arcelor Mittal group owns in Asturias (Spain).

It is a strategic contract in which it has been necessary an excellent work of several departments. This is how we manage to make a competitive offer technically and economically. A 5-year contract, which reinforces our position as a reference supplier for Arcelor Mittal.

A teamwork for the construction, monitoring and control of converters

To carry out this demanding project, an action plan has been agreed that involves the sales, technical and operations departments. In this way, through team work, the installation procedure of the converters has been prepared. Likewise, the monitoring and control of the interventions in them will be carried out.
